ABOUT US

Thatch & Roses was brought to life by Emily, the visionary and hands-on creative florist. Starting out in a workshop tucked away at the back of the 16th Century thatched farmhouse that Emily shares with her family, “Thatch & Roses” was born.

Emily is now joined by Sarah and together they lead the team at Thatch and Roses.

If you’re looking for a team who’ll put you at the heart of what they do, we're the florists for you!

  • "I am passionate about flowers, working with the seasons & using colour & texture to craft beautiful arrangements for any occasion."

  • EMILY’S STORY

Emily’s passion started with wedding flowers, more importantly helping couples craft a wedding that really represents them, shaking off the ‘shoulds’ of the wedding industry - all through the medium of flowers.

Emily's personal experience of being a bride and losing a close loved one to motor neurones disease within just a few days of getting married means she understands the true meaning of a wedding - the commitment of love between two people.

Her own experience while wedding planning was not one she would want any of her couples to have as she was made to feel like she was just picking things out of a catalogue after a long sales pitch.

Here at Thatch & Roses we are proud to approach wedding flowers differently. We want our clients to know we're listening, putting their vision at the centre of it all whilst using our expertise to guide them.

We advise on how to create a statement and how to maximise impact. We're always upfront and honest in everything that we do - no question is a stupid question!

  • Sarah's Story

As cheesy as it sounds, when Sarah was about ten years old she saw a film where someone was delivering flowers and the pure joy they gave the person who received them led her to have an “I want to do that when I grow up!” moment.

Sarah was lucky enough to train as a florist but ‘sense’ prevailed and she got herself a 'proper’ career of fifteen years. But it was once she had had her son that working with flowers became a call she could no longer ignore. Needing the passion and creativity back and to have a sense of connection Sarah started her own floristry business.

A pure lucky star led her to do some freelance work with Emily and the rest, as they say, is history.

At Thatch and Roses, connection and connectivity is everything. It is an incredible privilege to be part of the narrative of your lives and we take that very seriously. Whether you come and see us because you are getting married, giving a gift, saying farewell or welcoming new life we pride ourselves on giving you our absolute best, every time.

  • “I can only describe Emily as my creative soulmate so it was a complete no-brainer when she asked if I’d be up for combining forces to take Thatch and Roses to the next level. I love our dynamic and magic really does happen when we design and create flowers for you”.
